Public Group active 12 years, 1 month agoWhat’s even better is that unlike in most adventure games, in Traitors Gate the illogical obstacles that tend to plague even the best games in the genre are absent. Instead, it presents you with a series of logical challenges that can be readily solved, as long as you understand the tools at your disposal. That’s not to say Traitors Gate is easy – at times, it can be quite difficult. But it’s refreshing to play an adventure game where a padlocked gate can be opened with a pair of bolt cutters rather than by something like a frozen fish tied to a honey-covered balloon.
Although the game can be exciting, it can also be frustrating at times. Most of the frustration comes from the fact that Traitors Gate is so unstable. On one of the test systems, the game would only start about one out of every five tries. And the game requires two different versions of Quicktime to run – 2.0 and 3.0. The game was plagued with problems using Quicktime 4, If you have any sort of inquiries pertaining to where and the best ways to utilize corrupt, you could call us at our site. and the in-game video (such as walking guards) won’t run unless you install version 2 as well. Furthermore, the game takes up four CD-ROMs, and you’ll switch between all four frequently.
Traitor picks up soon after the capture of Jacen Solo in Star by Star. In this story, we see the Yuuzhan Vong attempt to brainwash the young Jedi into believing in their gods and philosophy of life. Leading the efforts are Nom Anor and the mysterious former Jedi Vergere. She also snuffs out his Force sensitivity, thus making his sister and family believe he is dead. While Coruscant is remade into the new Yuuzhan Vong homeworld, Vergere takes the lead in torturing Jacen and indoctrinating him into the Yuuzhan Vong way of life. She also shows him the invaders’ deepest secrets.
Recounting the story of Eric Erickson (Holden), an American-born citizen living in neutral Sweden during World War II, who is neutral enough to be profiting from working with both the Germans and the Allies. He is blackmailed into working for the Allies as a spy – this he reluctantly agrees to because the Allies (represented by the caustic Griffith) have him in a bind. The film is filled with powerful and memorable sequences and great performances, especially by Holden and Palmer. The Paramount production values were top-notch in every department, most especially in the costumes of Edith Head and the photography of Jean Bourgoin.
From the first page, it’s clear that Traitor is unlike any Star Wars book we’ve ever seen. Stover’s writing is much more stylized than the typical SW book, and when you’re someone like me, who doesn’t read any SF or fantasy but SW, it’s definitely interesting to experience. Like Scott, I expected the book to be 292 pages of torture and philosophy. Unlike Scott, I was looking forward to that. The idea of tearing down a Galactic society and rebuilding it structurally and philosophically is what’s always made the NJO so great to me; the same is true for the prequel era.
