No AdminsReading Again, Kindle App for Android
Public Group active 12 years, 1 month agoEarly this year i set a goal to read 12 books this year. which for many of you, is nothing…i know a few of you plan to read 50 or more books this year…but for me that 12 books would be a HUGE increase in my reading, in fact…i think 12 more books would be more than i have read in my entire post high school life!
by…10….
sad isnt it?
I started the year off by reading “Its Kind of A Funny Story” which was really good. and then i read (but im hardly counting towards my 12) “The Total Money Makeover”
But i think i just found the tool that will make my goal much more realistic. The Kindle App for Android phones.
My new Droid X came pre-loaded with the Kindle app and the other day on break i started playing around with it. thats when i discovered that Amazon.com has a bunch of books that you can download for free! they are all old classics that are out of copyright and now public domain.
Frankenstein, Dracula, The Time Machine, The Oddesy…and so on.
like i said, i have never been much of a reader, so all of these are new to me, and actually the idea of reading a book that supposedly everyone else has piqued my interest! so, i started with “Dracula” and i am pretty interested so far. I have never even seen the old movie, so i dont know whats coming.
but i figure with vampires being so big in todays pop culture, i should at least know why they got to that point in the first place!
i just spent the last few hours reading, and while some of the writing feels a bit dated…it still seems to hold relevance to today, and is holding my interest well. so, i am hoping to scratch one more off of my 12 soon…i am falling behind already if you think of the goal as 1 book a month…so…by the end of april i hope to have finished “dracula” and also “the time machine” and possibly “Frankenstein” as well.
What are you reading these days?
